Sahara - April 2005

"Sahara" is, although inadvertently, a parody of an action movie. It can’t be taken seriously, but is quite fun. I won’t bother describing the plot because it doesn’t make any sense. Suffice it to say that two guys go on a quest for historical treasure, meet a hot babe, things blow up, bullets fly, wrongs are righted and things are found.
"Sahara" is a decent way to spend two hours but will leave you wanting something more substantial the next time, like "The Upside of Anger" or "The Interpreter."

[2009: I don't have a copy of a review of "The Interpreter." It was a good political thriller set at the UN. I highly recommend it if you like the genre. Much better than the remake of "The Manchurian Candidate," which, while in the same genre, is an inferior movie.]
