You’d think "Dreamer" was produced by Disney because it’s so perfectly dramatic with long odds and the requisite happy ending, but Disney it is not. "Dreamer" is a feel-good movie and a good one at that. The ubiquitous Dakota Fanning plays a girl whose family adopts a race horse with a broken leg. She nurses the horse back to health and decides to race it. You can guess the rest, but let me just say it works.
By the way, in most Disney movies, animated or live action, the child has only one parent. In "Dreamer", both of the girl’s parents are alive and well.
